We are situated at Pataua North on the site of the old school, approx 30 kms from Whangarei on a sealed road. We are ideally situated to cater for outdoor and coastal acitivites including sheltered swimming in the estuary and surfing at the oceanside.
You can reach Pataua via Whareora Road, or Glenbervie Harris Road. (North side). You can also get to Pataua via Parua Bay (South side) which entails a short walk across the foot bridge to reach the site.
Features include Pataua River and the Parawanui South side beach which is a 21/2 kilometre walk. There is an adundance of natural history and sea life, all presenting excellent opportunities for education and fun activities. These include beach walks, rock pool exploration, seafood collecting, local history, swimming and water sports.
There is a natural resource education and the DOC reserve at Pataua Mountain Walk and other guided walks can be arranged to visit local Kauri trees.
